Rick Mahler attacked by bees
REUTERS - Sep. 4, 2003 Sarasota, FL – Rick Mahler, former Atlanta
Braves starting pitcher was attacked by a large swarm of bees while playing
croquet at his home in Sarasota this past weekend. His buddy, Paul Runge ,
former Brave, saved him by spraying him with a garden hose. Thankfully, Rick
was posing for a picture with former Brave Paul Runge when the bees swarmed, so
the photographer was able to capture the above image.
Rick Mahler is in stable condition at Sarasota Shriners Hospital.
