Bob Horner Choked by Turtleneck

Bob Horner Choked by Turtleneck

ASSOCIATED PRESS - Stallings, AL February 12, 2009 - Bob Horner loves turtlenecks almost as much as he loved playing 3rd base for the Atlanta Braves. But Bob's love for turtlenecks turned sour yesterday as the piece of clothing he loved cut off the circulation to his head. The yellow turtleneck pictured above was Mr. Horner's favorite shirt. But after this incident, it looks like he will have to find a bigger size. The restrictive nature of the yellow turtleneck caused Mr. Horner to pass out while watching television. It wasn't until his friend, Paul Zuvella, former Braves shortstop, offered Bob some chips that it was discovered Mr. Horner could not breathe. Paul quickly called 911 and Mr. Horner was saved. It was the second time a turtleneck almost took the life of Mr. Horner. In 2001, Bob went to the emergency room when he could not take off a turtleneck that became stuck around his throat. Mr. Horner is recovering from his turtleneck injuries at Mt. Sinai hospital in Birmingham and is expected to fully recover from his life threatening injuries.
